Siva Afi Aotearoa
Siva Afi & Drumming Workshops
New dates coming soon
Our Siva Afi workshops provide a sense of purpose and empowerment
Each term we hold a series of Siva Afi workshops to teach the traditional Samoan Siva Afi (fire knife dance) art form. Each series includes eight free workshops held at various locations around Auckland.
Open to all ages from 5yrs+ and welcoming everyone in the community, regardless of cultural and religious affiliations, abilities or gender, our workshops are a safe space to learn and thrive. Each series provides an opportunity to either be introduced to or develop what has previously been learnt. Meeting other performers and creating friendships is also an important part of the workshops.
On completion of the workshop series, those who are interested will have the opportunity to take part in a public performance of Siva Afi.
We are excited to start a new chapter to our Siva Afi workshops starting January 2025 with a number of new changes in order for our programs to keep up with the demands in the community, these are:
o We look to introduce Pacific language and culture as part of the learning program.
o A small fee of $50 per participant per semester will help us to continue to deliver workshops in the community and throughout the year.
o Audition process for participants.
Registration for 2025 will open on the 10th December 2024 through our website, watch this space Workshops — Siva Afi

The success of Boosted X Moana is a vital part of whether workshops can remain free to participants. Limited funding will result in either the workshops being postponed or requiring us to charge a small workshop fee. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
